FIP-C - Dual-axis CAN-bus angle sensor

FIP-C is a device that uses only CAN bus interface to give information about dual-axis inclination. The sensor measures the angular inclination with respect to the horizontal plane. It can operate in the measurement range up to ±45 degrees. Inclination measuring is based on high accuracy accelerometer IC.If the inclination exceeds ±45 degrees the value is
trimmed and limited to this range. The red LED indicates the sensor status:

  • LED ON: The device is powered and operates in the measurement range of ±45 degrees.
  • LED FLASHING: The device is powered and operates out of the measurement range

Each inclination sensor is factory calibrated at 25 °C to guarantee high accuracy. The inclination sensor has hardware and software filters to reduce interference of vibrations.

Features
The CAN bus complies with CAN bus specification version 2.0b and the protocol is CANopen compatible .The inclination value is sent cyclically to the bus.Using configuration parameter, which are stored permanently in the internal device memory, it is possible to make the inclination sensor suitable for different application solutions. In particular, using special CAN bus message, it is possible to configure:

  • baud rate (up to 500kb/s)
  • nodeID
  • transmission interval and other parameters.

FIP-M - Dual-axis digital tilting indicator transistor outputs

Digital tilting indicator FIP-M is a digital device able to signal when inclination exceeds one or more predefined thresholds, along two axes, respect to the horizontal plane. Device is equipped with two independent digital outputs. Each digital output gives information about horizontal inclination of the system where it is mounted on,referring to its own thresholds. Exceeding one or more thresholds changes the output status ( ). A red LED helps to give information about the FIP-M inclination with regard to one of two outputs and its configuration:.

  • off: horizontal position (to less than +/- 1°)
  • blinking: inclination doesn’t exceed any threshold, but inclinometer is not perfectly horizontal.
  • on: inclination exceeds one or more predefined thresholds

On request, it is possible to specified a delay on the status change of each output. Hysteresis is also provided on the status change of each output. ( ) Output status, according the inclination, depends on the ordering code

Features
FIP-M tilting indicator is factory preconfigured according to the custom request.
It is possible to reconfigure device characteristics using a special serial adaptor with PC program (sold separately). In this way, the thresholds, the output delay, the hysteresis and other characteristics can be changed thus rendering the device that suits their needs. Changes are stored permanently in the internal device memory.

FIPR-C - Dual-axis redundant CAN-bus angle sensor

Angle sensor FIPR-C is a device able to measure the biaxial inclination with respect to the horizontal plane. Measure is based on an integrate acceleration sensor. The inclination value is sent cyclically to the CAN bus line using two different messages which have a different NodeID. The CAN bus complies with CAN bus specification version 2.0b and the protocol is CANopen compatible. Thanks to its redundancy which reduces the probability of failure; this device could be use as safety component. It can operate in the measurement range up to ±45 degrees. Inclination measuring is based on high accuracy accelerometer IC. If the inclination exceeds ±45 degrees the value is trimmed and limited to this range. Each inclination sensor is factory calibrated at 25 °C to guarantee high accuracy. The inclination sensor has hardware and software filters to reduce interference of vibrations.

Features
The device is equipped with a bubble level to verify immediately the device inclinations respect to the ground. The bubble level zero much the device sensor. If necessary, it is possible to adjust the zero of device at any time, sending a properly CAN bus command.
It is also possible modify the sensor configuration in order to made it more suitable to the application where it is used,by means properly CANbus messages.See the documentations about CAN bus protocol for more information.
The sensor is not equipped with an internal termination resistance. See connection s indication to use the termination resistance in the CANbus line.
